Paul graduated from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1990 with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Chemical and Process Engineering.  He is a UK Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.

Paul's 30+ year career has predominantly been spent in the design, commissioning and operation of oil and gas production facilities and the supporting utilities, including fire protection systems.  He has worked for a wide range of organisations from global companies to small independent consultancies and held Technical Authority roles in both Process Engineering and Flow Assurance for a major international oil company.  

He is well versed in national and international design codes and standards and is experienced in direct training of operators and technicians as well as writing operating manuals for complex systems.

Paul's introduction to produced foam testing was a plea for assistance from colleagues who were struggling to achieve a successful produced foam test which was putting the facility's ability to operate at risk.  He saw that a lack of formal training was introducing errors into the tests and so this course was created to help avoid those mistakes and to provide technicians with the competence to undertake the tests at their facilities.
